NIRAS and TWI have signed a joint Memorandum of Understanding with SOIC

Published: 02-04-2014

For the past 19 months, NIRAS has worked with TWI Cambridge on this Industrial Cooperation Project, delivering a programme of workshops and a series of specialist software tools to SOIC as the project beneficiary.

Project Manager Claire Fletcher attended, supported by Market Director Claus Gormsen and Project Engineer Jesper Asklæde Rasmussen. The symposium attracted international attendance and drew commendation from the funding organisation, Lockheed Martin, as well as high praise from the delegates. Representatives of SOIC who had participated in the full training programme delivered technical presentations to demonstrate the newly-established offshore wind farm development capability at SOIC, and the unique value of this capability in Taiwan.

NIRAS, TWI and SOIC signed a joint Memorandum of Understanding at the Symposium, witnessed by Mr Wen-Tsan Lu of the Industrial Development Bureau in Taiwan, and Mr Chris Wood, Director of the British Trade and Cultural Office, Taipei. This MoU establishes a mutually beneficial relationship between NIRAS and SOIC in Taiwan, enabling us to work together towards offshore wind farm development in Taiwan, and to continue to expand our presence and reach in the Asia-Pacific region.
