In line with technological development and the utilisation of resources on the seabed, there is an increasing need for the replacement and decommissioning of existing plants and offshore installations.

Decommissioning is made up of many complex operations and processes involving a wide range of knowledge and trades. With more than 20 years of experience in decommissioning of both onshore and offshore installations in the energy sector, NIRAS provides a wide range of consultancy services throughout the project life-cycle from planning and design in the early stages of project development, through to the decommissioning and removal of structures.

We have assisted several international clients in the decommissioning of offshore wind turbines in the world’s currently largest offshore wind farms and production cessation and well-abandonment for the oil industry. Our services cover planning, design, consultancy and project management, as well as project development.
